Driving a registered/insured car without plates?

So I'm getting my car signed over to me tomorrow (it's always been mine but was in my parents' name for insurance reasons; now that I'm 18, I'm getting full ownership). But my parents are taking the plates off when they sign it over to me. If the car is still insured and registered, will I be able to legally drive it without the license plates? It would only be until I get new ones.

The car is not properly registered if the car changed ownership from your parents to you. You'd have to register it and get your own plates. you cannot drive the car until it is registered and has plates.
