Dreadful films on TV

A few nights ago I watched a film on BBC1 called Deceived.

It starred Goldie Hawn. And John Heard (the dad from Home Alone) I dont know what I was thinking about watching it. It's not the type of thing I'd usually watch. I accidently saw the start and so watched it until the end!

Spoiler!

It began with Goldie Hawn walking in to a posh restaurant. Her blind date didn't turn up. Right away it was clear she was the main character. (and as such was the victim / moral one) She happend to meet another guy in the restaurant. Now, the movie is called Deceived. It doesn't take a brain surgeon here! Yes you've guest it! The man she meets in the restaurant is out to deceive her! Que absolutly nothing happening at all until the very end when the stupid bitch finally realises and the money obsessed conman convienently dies! I could have told her he was a sleaze in the very first frame he's seen in! This was one of those anti-male / pro female movies TV is such a fan of. Yes, in the movie world women have to watch out for those big bad men out to get them! Absolutly nothing happend. One of the most boring films I've ever seen. Anyone else unfortunate enough to have seen this?

Saw it years ago on ITV, back in the days when they and BBC would still have 'seasons' of recent film premieres. I found the opening shot of a blurry grey screen gradually focusing into a sea of umbrellas making their way through the drabness of early morning rainy NYC to be quite a striking touch. Can't really remember much about the rest of the it, apart from it being unusually sombre for a Goldie Hawn film.
