Drawn Together Talkback- Episode 34 "Nipple Ring-Ring Goes to Foster Care"

Snyopsis: When Ling-Ling ODs on his 21st birthday, the housemates learn the little battle monster is actually only 3 years old. Child Services puts Ling-Ling in foster care, where he ends up in the house of Uncle Ben. Foxxy decides to save Ling-Ling from foster care and ends up discovering who her father is. Hero is jealous of Xandir's nipple ring and decides to get one himself. After he gets hit by lighting, Hero realizes he can use his nipple ring to communicate with himself from the past.

I know there are those of you out there who will be complaining about the fact that there's yet another Captain Hero story, but you have to admit, the second half of the season has been a lot less Hero-centric than the first half was.

He had less screentime than the others in Drawn Together Babies, too. That makes three out of four episodes aired so far. The only episode in the first half without major Hero involvement was Lost in Parking Space 1.

And then there are those of use who are *happy* that it's another Hero story, hee! :D From the preview clip on the Comedy Central site, this one looks very promising... can't wait 'til tonight!

Love the poll options, btw. Looks like someone's trying to set the record for the number of times 'nipple' can be said in one thread.

I liked it but I didn't laugh that much. Didn't one of the writers mention that the first season was CH galore since Comedy Central decided to air the season early and only the CH centric episodes were finished? Anyway the CH part of the story was fun, but I was disappointed at the Ling Ling story. Ling Ling episodes are usually my favorites but this one was kind of lame.

Really enjoyed this one, moreso than last week's Drawn Together Babies. The Captain Hero stuff was pretty funny, but I really liked the Ling-Ling/Foxxy storyline. And Foxxy in a schoolgirl uniform? Schwing!

Yeah, he did. And there were still Hero stories in the second half, though nowhere near as many as in the first half. Anyway, my reaction to this one was kind of the same. Not a laugh out loud episode, but still very amusing and entertaining. One thing I liked about this one was that it was very character-driven; there were a few pop culture references here and there, but they didn't get in the way of the story like they sometimes do.

I laughed a lot more at this episode than previous ones. I love how Captain Hero kept making his himself from the past have sex with inanimate objects.

"I know how you can win back her heart. First, go to the barn dance and pour gasoline all over it. Then, light a match and set it on fire."
"Then I save the girl from the burning fire?"
"Even better. You take a sandwich and f*** it."
"Well, okay."

I don't know why, but I kept laughing at just about every bit in the Captain Hero plot. The Ling-Ling/Foxxy plot was interesting as well with some hilarious references to Transformers and Duck Amuck.

Hero is like Bloo with a power level of over 9000. They rarely play with the fact that these characters are from different cartoons anymore. Hero doesn't have super powers, for example.

Hero is actually a lot more retarded as well as unstable (sexually and mentally) then Bloo though. There's much more of a method to Bloo's madness then Hero, who actually did show some superpowers in this one. He flew and then speeded around at some points. More then I can say for Ling Ling. (I know it won't happen, but they needed an episode of this show where Ling Ling "evolved" and fought Captain hero if only to throw out a bunch of anime fighting parodies and superhero fighting parodies that we didn't really get much of in the show).

Normally I'm down on the hero plot but it was defintley the stronger one this time around thinking about it. At the very least it's more believable Hero would be so retarded he'd think he'd need a nipple ring to be special and then when finding he could talk to the past use it to humilate his past self by making him stick his d*** in a sandwitch several times (funniest was when he did it instead of saving the barn from burning down). Even the ending twist with little hero getting back at bigger hero was good (though the way Captain Hero's weehole was taken out by the garbage disposal... yeah too much inofrmation). So that plus Xandir remarking at Hero's continued stupidity, sandwitch eating hand, Lois Lane parody, and hero's just general unsteadyniess (plus the whole bit with the computer that was the most LOL moment of the ep) was actually pretty good. Actually the Ling Ling plot was disappointing this time around. I don't really care enough about Foxxy's family to really care we finally saw her dad and her reconnect with him, and the whole reuse of the waiting for cigarettes joke that was funnier in season three's premiere ep. That plus I was hoping Ling Ling would do more then just take abuse (though that's what he seems to do for most of the eps anyway) for that first half. So yeah defintley one of the weaker plots which balances out to be a fairly decent ep. I'll give it a bit of a raise for an unexpected Garfield spoof. Otherwise could of actually used more Hero and his Frequnecy parody this time around.
