Drawn Together Episode 33 - "Drawn Together Babies"

It was inevitable. For the past 32 episodes, the eight housemates have been acting like babies. And now, they are babies. No, I'm not kidding, they really are babies! Watch this episode tonight at 10:30 PM EST, and you'll see what I mean! After watching this episode, you'll also find out why they became the way they are.

Discuss. Or dis and cuss. Seriously, I think more people should be talking about these new episodes. I was disappointed when I saw the surprisingly small about of people talking about episodes 30 through 32, and I want this to change! We want a fourth season, so I think we should work harder in order to make it happen instead of just hoping for one!

[end rant]

This is actually pretty funny, and a nice satire of Muppet Babies cliches. Baby Captain Hero sounds like Kooky Von Koopa from the old Super Mario Bros. 3 cartoon. :o

The "And that's how..." running gag is pretty humorous.

I like Wooldoor's origins the best. I didn't realize until a few minutes before it happened when Walter Saget is Wooldoor Sockbat.

This was another great episode loaded with all that good ol' sex, violence, and comedy. It definetly leaves me eager for the next one. I don't see any reason why why Comedy Central would ever want to cancel it at this point.

It was really funny and fairly disgusting (I'm going to really regret seeing that table scene on the DVD, that's for sure), and the baby angle and the dramatic 'dun-DUN' music popping up every 5 minutes was really funny (No matter how much they're using that, I'll always get a kick out of it).

The british guy and all the twists that happened just rounded off the episode into a completely ridiculous yet very refreshing episode (in the most awkward way possible).

A, definitely one of my favorite episodes of this series.

Excellent, excellent episode. So far, the second half of S3 is kicking the first half's ass left and right, up and down. One thing that pleased me greatly about this particular episode was that even though the plot was extremely hectic (even by DT standards), most of the humor came from the characters and their interaction with each other rather than the plot. But onto specific points.

* Loved all the references to past episodes, both the obvious ones and the subtle ones (such as the line about "talking to the DA about extenuating circumstances", a reference to a great Clara moment in "Gay Bash").

* It cracked me up how Chase was always referred to as "(Chad's) rebellious brother Chase".

* Dr. Lingstein gave me possibly my biggest laugh of the episode.

* It was humorous to see them all acting different from their adult versions, but for some reason I found Spanky being concerned with hygiene particularly funny.

* Spanky, Clara, and Xandir getting emotionally involved in the whole soap opera subplot was also great.

* Ling-Ling shined throughout this whole episode- especially the moment where he decides to begin "speaking language he make up with dead twin". Also loved his "Attica!" bit near the beginning.

* Best line in the episode: Foxxy declares that they need to hide Charlotte's body somewhere Hero will never find it, and Toot replies, "How about your G-spot?" Runner-up: Wooldoor's "Our resentment for you" when the babies' mother asks them what they're hiding.

* More running gags- Foxxy's Funyuns are referenced again as well as yet ANOTHER reference to Captain Hero being a necrophiliac. I think the writers have dropped the "Captain Hero is gay" angle in favor of the stuff with dead bodies.

* This is trivial beyond belief, but did anyone realize that all three of the people in the love traingle (Chad, Charlotte, and Chase) had names starting with the same three letters? Also, it's curious that this is the second time in three episodes that DT has had a prominent female guest character named Charlotte.

I was wondering where Wooldoor was at the start of the episode, then I saw the kid with the socks and thought 'No way'. I had no idea they'd go with the 'Wooldoor was once a human' angle.

This was the first episode of Drawn Together that I've watched in it's entirety in a while. Most of the time I end up turning it off after 5 minutes or so.

Anyway, I watched it, and laughed twice. After it ended, my partner said "well that was mediocre".

My sentiments exactly.

Since I never watched an episode of Muppet Babies, I'm sure there's a lot of references that went right over my head. But, I found it mostly amusing, especially the little toss-away comments. Like when Ling-Ling asks, "Mommy, why don't you ever pick us up?" I dunno, though, that SIDS joke ... I laughed, but felt guilty afterwards. That was a first for me!

Mommy and Daddy cursed in front of them! Maybe that's where the babies learned all that swearing from...

Anyway, is it just me, or does Baby Captain Hero look an awful lot like Sokka from "Avatar: The Last Airbender"?

The idea of doing an entire episode Muppet Babies/Baby Cartoon parodies was good, but similar to the cereal episode kind of loses focus as they go into they're own thing. DT isn't the kind of show that deseperatley needs some kind of plot driving it through so you really could of skipped the whole "Let's pretend we're the girlfriend/"hide the body" kind of thing and just go more for parodying the whole "making characters younger to give them another show" deal. Like maybe having the babies unite to make sure another kids spinoff is never made or something. I mean there were some good jokes, mainly the guy talking about the origin of quirks of each character, espically Ling Ling, Toot's ("one dimensional fat joke") and Captain Hero's origin, Captain Hero baby being the tattletale, killing the babysitter, Woodlor turning from a human to a sockbat creature, the Ling Ling creature in the doctor's room (I did LOL at him jumping out of the window actually), Baby Foxxy trying to turn on the mommy and the ending. I also did like how they gave it a Muppet babies type of opening and the kids baby voices but still they could of done a better job kiddying it. I mean it's still an okay ep but one that could of been better if went less against the regular DT vein.

I agree. The episode began to ramble the deeper they delved into the 'babysitter's boyfriend and his rebellious brother' plot. Just doing a spoof on babyfications would've been premise enough, IMO.

I actually thought they were going with the Skeeter angle with 'Walter' at the beginning. You remember where she was specifically created for Muppet Babies but never appeared as a real muppet.

Another terrific episode. I hope the show is renewed.

I loved all the British guy gags

"And that's how Toot became a one dimentional fat joke."
"Your face is a fat joke!"
"Noooooooooooooooo yoooooour's is."

"And that's how Spanky began to love excrement almost as much as I do *gets under table* readyyyyyyyyy."

"And that's how Xandir became a hooooooomoooooooo."

Easily the best episode I've seen this season.

Remember, everyone... Drawn Together Babies is now On Demand! But like I said before, just because the new episodes are On Demand doesn't mean you shouldn't watch them when they first air on Thursday nights!

I loved how the mother was referred to as Mrs. Drawn Together. Also I think the funniest line (except for everything Ling Ling said) was Clara saying, "I'll scream as loud as Daddy when he found out about Black Daddy."

This is the first and only DT episode I halfway enjoyed. It wasn't badly animated and was funny in spots. But as usual, the extreme gross-out stuff bummed me out at the end. This ep didn't really need that stuff IMO. The baby gags were funny on their own. I think the DT characters are a lot funnier as babies than they are as adults. And since they're (for them anyway) back to normal in their next ep I won't be tuning in, FWIW.
