Downloading in College

My university must block Limewire and all those because now that I'm at college Limewire doesnt connect at all. This has to be some sort of anti-piracy thing. Is there any other option besides bittorent?

i use "our tunes" in conjunction with itunes to share music off the LAN in my dorm.

It's 100mbps so i can d/l a song in less than a second. I have 5500 mp3s now.

ourTunes and MyTunes are your best bet. You can see if torrents work, if not you may need to go IRC.

If you want to go the legal route (probably a smart idea...) you can use rhapsody. It lets you stream 25 songs free each month or you can stream infinite songs for like 10 bucks a month. I use it at work.

I use http://www.rhapsody.com/freemusic . It is free and legal and will give you 25 free songs per month as well as ad free radio. The quality is good and they have a big selection to choose from. I also enjoy getting their newsletters that give me info on new music. I don't think this would be banned from your school.

I just get files from my frienRAB comp. using AIM. He just d/l's songs for me sometimes, but also has a great collection of his own. See if a friend is willing to help you out.

Thanks jmechy...

Okay well Limewire doesn't work for me also...down with the FIREWALL ! ! !

Anyways what's better? IRC or TORRENTS ???
