Downloading in Chrome?

When I click a link in Chrome, like a path to a zip file, Chrome would try to open it in a new tab and leave it as that instead of downloading it. I know I can right click and select save as, but shouldn't there be a better way?

Super frustrated. Firefox would be a bit smarter and know that I don't want to "view" a zip file, I want to download it.
