Down Hill Mountain Biking?

How can i get a cheep but still really good mountain bike?

- i have about $1000. i want to get a really good Downhill MTB. But they all seem to be really expensive. Can any one help me?

search craigslist or Ebay for a used one. Or take your grand and go to a bike shop and see what they have.
