Dosing fish oil to a small dog?

I have a 1 yr old Westie/Jack/Chi weighing in at 6 lbs. that is having skin issues. She is flea free but is itchy and has a couple of hot spots. I have changed her shampoo to an oatmeal & baking soda one that seems to be soothing. I have heard that fish oil does wonders for their skin/coat and overall health.

I have human capsules that are 1000 mg each. What is the correct dosage and the best way to administer it?
