Doryx - long term???

Hey guys -

I have been on Doryx (75mg/a day) for almost 9 months now -- i started at 100mg/day then dropped to 75mg after 3 months (dr. put me on 50mg after 6 months but i started to break out again so he bumped it back up to 75mg)

My Dermatologist keeps me writing me refills so i assume this must be safe to take for long perioRAB of time - i'm just wondering if anyone else has experience with taking it for this long or longer (say even years)

i am scared i will need to take this for the rest of my life just to control my acne.

I've been taking doryx for a year or so at 75mg. I didn't take it all last summer because I spend a lot of time in the sun and tanning bed, and my derm told me to avoid the sun while taking doryx. I just chose to avoid the doryx instead, lol. I know the doryx works for me as far as keeping my skin clear, but I feel like it is giving me yeast infections. I try to eat yogurt everyday, but I don't think it is enough. I have also wondered if it is okay to take this longterm.

I am going on vacation to warm climate in 2 weeks and he told me to stop taking it totally for that week. It will make your skin more senstive in the sun, he was very clear to me about that.

I have gotten 1 yeast infection since i have been on it so you are not alone there.
