door problems with my (92) toyota tercel door?

so im trying to fix the window that was not working on my toyota tercel (its manual). If anyone knows these cars and the windows, they know that there is a bar that attatches to the window and the bar is attatched to these two metal pieces that kinda look like an X. This bar is attatched to the top of the X. Now I cant seem to attatch the bar to the window. Like, its uneven and I cant attatch it to the window. So, if your not a machanic or have not done this before on a door like this, then this would just sound like nonsense. please help
