We pay taxes & what do we get in return?
Pot holed roads for our car tax.Petrol increases that are 'not the government's fault'.
An NHS system that is more than likely going to be privatised within 10 years (will our NI contributions go down - I doubt it)
No help if we fall into financial difficulty - the working tax payer doesn't get any financial help with their mortgage or rent payments. It's only the non working, non contributing that get help.
Slapped with fines for overflowing bins or irregular parking. We have fortnightly collections in my area, and whilst it's ok to recycle etc, I am expecting a baby (no financial help for me by the way) and I don't think I can recycle nappies! However people who fight on a Saturday night, drive without insurance or tax get cautions or community orders that they don't fulfil.
The people who put in the most get the least.
Can anyone please make me feel like our household gets value for money from our £950 p/m income tax?
