I need to write a lab report on "Identification of Substances by Physical Properties" which there is information online about, HOWEVER, our lab was done differently because of time being cut short. The only substances we used were water, oil and ethyl alcohol and an unknown substance. All of these ended up being soluble and it was determined that the unknown was isopropyl alcohol - I could even tell that by smelling it. I just don't understand how I can write my conclusion when I don't even understand what the purpose was to this lab. Everything looked the same except the oil in the water, it was cloudy, but soluble (this was the part where it was heated). Can someone help explain this to me so I can complete my report due tomorrow? Thanks so much for your help.
And by the way, I AM DOING MY HOMEWORK ON TIME! Try taking Human Anatomy and college Chemistry with other obligations when you don't feel you have the smarts for chemistry! - this is for the person who was 2nd to respond!!
