Don't know what else to do about acne.

My 20 year old son has been on acne meRAB but nothing is working anymore. He was on differin and a topical antibiotic and it just stopped working. Next, the dermatologist put him on an oral antibiotic but it caused a lot of nausea. He can't use anything with benzoyl peroxide, because he is allergic. Anybody have any other ideas?
 
Has your son tried over the counter "Adult Acnomel"? This has worked well for me for a long time.
 
I just saw a post saying to use Lava Soap to helo with acne...just passing that along. You will find the entire post on the acne board.
 
I know proactive has helped a lot of people, but it has benzoyl peroxide in it and my son is allergic to it. I'd never heard of the lava soap idea, that's very interesting. Thanks for the suggestions.
 
I had to use Tretonin Forte cream but my prescription was specially made in water as opposed to alcohol which makes my face worse. I also use Spectroderm soap on my face. I've had two surgeries for acne scars and also did well on Accutane also but being so young he has to be watched carefully. I was also on Doxepin antibiotic and had cortisone injections after dry ice at the acne clinic on a regular basis. I hope something can help him. Hopefully he own't need dermabrasion surgery later it's quite uncomfortable to get done. Take care.
