...friends? For whatever reason lets just say you are stuck living in a place with virtually no one from your peer group. In an attempt to make friends and have a social life you decided to try to meet and hang out with people from other peer groups.

You end up having to resort to organised things like interest groups or classes. You have so little in common with these people that its very difficult to join in the conversation and you find them boring. When you talk about things associated with your peer group they find you either boring or they sneer at you.

Months have gone on and you have not really found common ground. Is it possible to make friends in these circumstances?
