How is it that Don Imus, who was known for pushing the limits with some of his comments, was fired for making a jokingly racist remark against the Rutgers Women's basketball team, yet David Letterman doesn't even feel the need to apologize for joking about Sarah Palin's daughter being "knocked up" by Alex Rodriguez and should stay away from Elliot Spitzer?

Also, do you buy into the fact that Letterman claims to have been talking about Palin's older daughter and not her 14-year old?
And yes, Imus eventually found work again, but he STILL apologized, despite the fact that he had already lost his job.
 
Imus made an off the cuff remark and as I recall, I am not sure he even knew an audience was listening.

Letterman spewed his thing in front of a nationwide audience and did it intentionally.

Imus was being Imus. Letterman was being mean.
