Has anyone noticed a strange background distortion while watching Dolby Digital broadcasts on BEV?
The sound is difficult to describe; it sounds like something is loose in my speaker, or as if a glass vase is vibrating on top of the speaker, but neither is the case. The sound is directly proportional to the volume of the signal (absent during quiet scenes). It almost sounds as if the signal is being re-transmitted, only in garbled form along with the regular audio signal.
Switching to PCM cures the problem. I doubt it is my A/V receiver since DD is fine when watching DVD.
This problem, coupled with the audio dropouts with DD is seriously making me consider dropping Bell and trying Rogers, or ditching it all and using an OTA antenna.
