Oct/Nov is definitely the best time to ride there. We're going back up in early November. Its cool in the mornings, but the afternoons warm up and not too hot in your leathers...only trouble is some of the stores and lodges have closed for the season, so you have to do some pre-planning...
 
I was up there in mid-Sept and the gap area was totally over-run with Harley's.
It looked like Bike Week in Daytona.

And there was more than one road-hoggin', knuckle-dragin', center line ridin', self proclaimed keepers of the Sub-Speed-Limit.

One still managed to get distracted and drop it into a ditch on Rt28 south of 'The Crossroads'.

As long as the still allow Huge Trucks on The Dragon, I'll decline.
 
Well got to come back to East TN.... Just had new Pilot Power 2CT's put on at Destination Motorcycles today.... Hopefully the weather clears up soon!!!! I'll be out there as soon as it does!
