Doing exercise 5 times a week gonna make a difference?

I am 22 years old and I am almost 300 pounds (I gained alot during pregnancy). I have started doing Billy Blanks cardio workout for 20-45 min every night after the baby goes to bed and before I go to bed 5 times a week. I dont really have time to do anything else during the day. Usually, when I get out of the house its to run errands (which tends to be alot when you have kids). I am also trying to drink more water and not drink soda. I know I need to eat right and drink lots of water, but besides that, do you think working out 20-45 min a night (cardio) will make a difference?

Sometimes its only 20 minutes because I am just overly tired, but I make sure to break a sweat before I stop. I try to do the whole video (its about 45 min).
Opinions? I really need to lose weight.
