Dogs - Bad behaviour - does spraying water at a dog make them aggressive?

I had him 2 days ago and he is trained, hes 5 months old and a very large dog. He has started biting when playing, yelling no does not work. Some one said spray water, I done this and it works very well, now I only have to show him the water bottle and he stops, but some one else said in the long run it could trigger agresstion.???
