I have a 7 month old pup. During the night we put him in the bathroom while we sleep. He whines the whole night.....i wake up at midnight in the morning he is still crying...2am....4am still.....what do i do? and why is he doing this? Is he ok?
I do get up and spank him....but as soon as i walk to the door he is right behind and he starts crying again.
He isnt potty trained yet so he still goes anywhere....so i dont its that he needs to go outside...
He is a very spoiled dog. He isnt abused. I love him very much...he does not need a new home. He goes everywhere with me. But during the night he cant be running around everywhere.

cover the bathroom floor with newspaper
each morning take the sheets he peed on and place on a cheap tray you'll never use anymore do that until there are no more sheets
is your bathroom floor cold????
if so place some old towels blankets or some cheap fabric on the floor
fill the bathroom with some doggy toys9a stuffie and a chew toy)
place a cage or a cardboard(or wood) crate/box and fill with any thing soft (fabric, dog bed ETC.)
when ever he whne in the nigjt come down give him a pat on the head and leave do that for a while and he wont whine anymore...
i hope i helped

he is ok most dog do that at that age.sometimes.believe it or not.sometimes they are trying to tell you that they want to go for a pee.
if it continues.and cant suss out what to do take the dog to the vet.

Make sure he is not cold. a dogs body temp should be about 102* F. That's 4* higher than ours. Put down some cusioned bedding he can squish up against and make sure ther's not cold air blowing on him. Don't roast him, just remember he likes being a bit warmer than you.

You didn't specify what type of dog he is. If he's a whiney breed (like chi's) good luck, otherwise jut try to tire him out. My dog used to bark all night, now my husband runs with him 3 miles a day. He sleeps like a baby.

If your dog is lonely, you could try a crate (closed) next to your bed. Or take a clock that hums, put it in a sock, then inside a pillowcase and place it where he can hear it, or just put it inside a cabinet in the bathroom. I've heard the hum reminds him of his mothers heartbeat and breathing.
