Our dog is 6 years old now and she is a Shetland Sheepdog, everytime there is a storm (even if it's very far away in the distance and all you can hear is low grumbles) she freaks out. I'm not sure if she can sense it in the air or feel a change in humidity but she instantly starts to pant and shake and goes all over the place. She always is trying to jump up on something whether it is us or an object or furniture, she has even tried to climb behind our tv cabinet where all the wires are, right now she is under my computer desk clawing at the shelves panting and shaking. When we hold her she doesn't calm down she just keeps trying to climb even higher, clawing at our necks or fidgeting around. This ALWAYS happens and it is very distressing for us to watch as I'm sure it is for her to go through. Is there anything we can do, like a drug or something to give her to calm her down during storms?
