My sister has a puppy and when we take him into the backyard to play he always finds something to eat. He's always munching away on gum-nuts and dry leaves. Recently our family just plowed over a large area of the backyard to make room for a shed we plan to build on the weekend. Now he's making a habit of eating things lurking within the soil of that area.
My neighbours dog apparently has the same problem, they tell me not to worry about it. Is this behavior normal?
Info: We do sweep up the backyard but it's impossible to rid it completely of gum-nuts and leaves even if we do maintain in on a daily basis. Also we feed him an a good portioned breakfast, so I'd appreciate it if you don't accuse me of starving our dog.
