My puppy, exactly a month and a day old, suddenly became aggressive just now when I patted her at the back. This has never happened before. Also, since she was lying down beside her mom, the mom started to yelp silently and started smelling her back and the puppy would growl. I tried patting her at the back and she also growled.
The puppy is actually sick. She's been sick for one week now but she is getting better. We brought her to the vet the day we found that she was sick and the vet said that it was parvo. So the vet had immunized her (it said in the vaccination certificate that it was "against 61 worms(?)" and the was manufacturer is pyraquantal). The vet also prescribed COTRIMOXAZOLE 1.6ml twice a day for 7 days and METOCLOPRAMIDE 1/2 10mg tablet until vomiting stops. It's been a week since she started getting sick but she's much better compared last week. She would drink and eat now. Because last week, she was vomiting frequently and even pooped a reddish/maroonish color.
So #1 Why is my dog suddenly growling when touched?
#2 Why is she still sick even after constant nursing and vet prescription and observation?
Thank you and I hope she gets well soon.
EDIT! I missed out to say that my puppy is THREE months and a day old. SORRY!
