Does your hairstylist have any affect on your hair length? Please read?

I used to go to a beautician who cut hair really nicely. She has been practicing for a LONG time. When I went to her, it seemed like my hair did not split as easy. I didn't have to get a trip as often, and my hair was longer. Now, I know that my hair is growing at the same speed of course, but it seems like ever since I've switched hairdressers, my hair won't get a long as it was, and I need a trim more often. Does this have anything to do with HER, or is my hair just doing it's own thing???

PS: I switched hairdressers because my old one had a really bad attitude, and I really like my new one, and she's more affordable, but she's only been doing hair professionally for 3 years.
Thanks.
I mean TRIM, not TRIP. Sorry.
