Yes. You'll need the password as you would if you were connecting with a laptop.

As stated, yes it does. What I haven't been able to verify yet is whether it can use APs that present a webpage for login first. Many free sites, like Panera bread, or libraries, are like this. Can these APs be accessed?

I think so, I've used a few like that. The only restriction should be that you'll have to connect with your web-browser before you can doing anything else like email or VOIP.
