does weight training for your legs actually sprint faster?

if you do weight training for your legs e.g squats, calf raises will you run faster?
i no if you do sprint training you will get faster but if u combine sprint training as well as leg training, will that make u even more faster?
 
depends on the weight traning you do you can over do and then your legs will get weak fast do light weight and sprints and you will get faster
