Does thrift stores only buy and sell old clothes?

i have this kitchenware item at home that i never used before. It was $500.00 but i could not return the item because i lost the box... i was wondering if i could sell the item at a thrift store for a good price?'
i never been to one before but heard about it.
** I do not want to sell this item online! it is about 50 pounds so the shipping fee will be costly.
