Does This Sound Like A Good Salsa Recipe?

Okay, in my Spanish book at school, I saw this recipe for salsa, and I was planning on making it for a get together I'm going to this weekend. Well, I thought I could remember the recipe, but I sort of forgot. I remember all but one ingredient. So, tell me if this sounds good, because I'm winging it.

5 diced tomatoes.
1 clove of garlic.
1 diced green pepper.
The juice of one lime.
Okay, and I'm assuming the forgotten ingredient is a small diced onion?
How much onion do you think?

It was a very simple recipe and didn't have cilantro or jalepeno.

So what I really need to know is how much onion you think, also red or white onion? And also, any salt or pepper or anything?
Thanks!

That recipe sounds too bland and lifeless.
I would use the tomatoes, skip the garlic and add one whole chopped sweet white onion or a red onion, skip the green pepper and add a chopped jalapeno which has been seeded and the white ribs removed, add the juice of one lime, a couple of tablespoons of chopped cilantro, and a pinch of salt. This is a recipe the natives of the Yucatan in Mexico.

there is no chili there, unless the green pepper is a green chili not bell pepper. add as much onion as you like some people like a lot i like a little. add a jalapeno and for more taste add some cilantro and cumin

I don't like fresh onions in my salsa.

I am going to give you my recipe.
1 large can of peeled tomatoes.
about 1/2 a bunch of cilantro, the top part not the steams
salt, pepper, garlic powder, a couple of dashes of Tabasco sauce,
and some chili powder.
blend 1/2 the can of tomatoes with all the ingredients in a food processor. Then add back to the rest of the tomatoes.

It's great for dipping fresh cooked tortilla chips or poured over tacos.
