does the waitress get all the gratuity that is on the check?

went to olive garden last nite with 20 people,we got separate checks with the tip included,my bill was 38.45+2.50 tax with a grat of 6.92, I added 5.00 cash to the waitress, all the people stated i shouldn't have,with grat included, i felt embarressed with the people i was with ,am i wrong, does she get the gratiuty or is it split with house
 
It really depends. I don't how Olive Garden works. Some places do a tip pool but it doesn't mean that you shouldn't tip because of that. Some places you keep all your tips in the section or you may have to tip out a little to the bussers/runners and whoever else. Hope this helped!
