Does the T-Mobile Samsung T369 Prepaid Cell Phone come with a sim chip?

My husband broke his phone last night and rather than pay a lot of money for a new phone from T-Mobile, I was wondering if the Prepaid phones require a sim chip. When he broke his phone, he did not break his sim chip.
