Does the Samsung Rogue allow you to type more then 160 characters to non verizon phones?

If you try to send one with more then 160 in a text msg to a non verizon phone will you get that annoying response message tell you you cant do that? OR is it like some phones that will allow u to send them as long as you'd like?
