I can not fine a web site that tells me if the NuVinci gear hub uses conventional bicycle gear cables or whether it uses a special cable set up.
It needs 2 cables to pull in either direction in order to shift. So are there 2 separate cables that can be adjusted separately or is it one cable that is connected or looped in some manner?
Could I purchase two long bicycle shifter cables to use on it or would these shifter cables need to be special NuVinci shifter cables? Does a NuVinci set up come with what ever is necessary for the 'extra' shifter cable?
I am thinking of putting a NuVinci gear hub on a "Total Fitness Row Bike" and want to know enough about it that I feel confident about the very large expense of the NuVinci Gear hub before I buy it. The "Row Bike" currently has a shifter cable is 8 feet long *(96 inches)> It has to be that long to accommodate the rowing action of the row bike. Other people have used internal gear hubs on the "row bike",
From what little I have read it seems the NuVinci uses the rear derailleur hanger to lock the axle is there some way to take up chain slack?
