Does the mom, dad, or both equally determine the sex of the baby?

Since the mom only carries an X chromosome, and the father both an X and Y chromosome, it is mainly the father as he carries both chromosomes of a girl (X) and boy (Y).

Dad
female always has the X chromosome while the male has the Y and the X. So, the male would determine which gender; if he gives an x, it's a girl; a y, a boy
HOWEVER -
it is theorized that the pH of mom's reproductive tract can influence survival of certain spermatozoa over others.
