Does the Japanese eat fish row, really?

I'm very curious how you english thought at first of the Japanese eating fish row. I suppose you know now what is like eating fish row by tasting sushi or sashimi. But before that I imagime you should have thought people eating fish row must be crazy or barbarians.
some 50 years ago when I was a child, I thought Eskimos must be babarians because I heard they ate fish row. I am just curious if your reaction to the notion of the Japanese was the same as mine.

The English eat (and have long eaten) fish roe, too! Herring roe is (or was) a common British food for many years.

The word you are looking for is RAW not ROW. It took a while to understand what yo were on about.

Yes the Japanese do eat some types of fish raw. It doesn't make them or anyone who eats raw fish barbarians.

I think you mean "raw", not "row".
I don't have a problem with it, although I don't like raw fish myself.
Britain has become very international over recent years and London is probably one of the best places in the world to eat international dishes.

Germans and French and others eat raw mince. Where's the problem?

There is still a lot of disgust at the fact that many people on the continent eat horse meat, but when you think about it there's no reason why not if you eat cow, pig and other animals.

I have never heard anything about a row about the Japanese eating fish ?
You mean RAW, sorry to give you English lessons, but ROW in English means argument or debate.
Anyway, I can't actually remember when I first found out about Japanese eating raw fish but all I do know is that I absolutely love it !
Can't get enough sushi, I always have a little boat platter covered in sushi when I go out, and I don't feel greedy !
