Does the iPod Touch keep getting slower every time you jailbreak it much often?

I am wondering whether the iPod Touch slows down more if you keep jailbreaking it. I already have a jailbroken iPod Touch 4th Generation with an iOS 4.1. It was jailbroken with Limera1n 2 months ago when I just bought it. It barely slowed down my iPod Touch, and it barely lags too. I'm planning to update my iPod Touch to iOS 4.2, 4.3 or wait until iOS 5.0 comes out; however, I might as well have to unjailbreak it first.
If I unjailbreak it, will it run fast like new, or will it stay the same? If I rejailbreak it, will it slow down more or stay the same?
Does it even matter if I used limera1n to jailbreak my iPod Touch iOS 4.1 and then rejailbreak it with a different jailbreak? If not, which jailbreak is easy besides redsn0w? I don't want to risk of getting my iPod Touch stuck in the Pineapple logo during the jailbreaking process.
