Does the Genesis myth teach us about creation or about our destiny?

Adam is a Hebrew pun for the term 'Adamah' which means soil.

Why did the torah authors use this mythical man Adam which means SOIL as their first choice? Could it be because they tried to convey the belief that dust and extinction is the destiny of humans?

When it says that god created life and saw that it was good does it mean a God was responsible for creating life or is it trying to educate humans that we need to care for each other , nature and every life that walks upon this earth?

When the Creation myth is demythologised dont you think it makes great sense?

Wot do you think?
