Does the gender problem with Caster Semenya mean society should let men & women...

...compete in sports together? For those who know about the Caster situation:

Tests are being determined about whether she is male or female. Another question however is being raised. That question, is why people are obsessed about it. Their are two points:

1) People who are questioning Caster's win is because they wonder if she deserves it as a woman, competing in womans sports, if she's not entirely woman.

2) People who are defending her win feel that the people who are questioning her win, just don't like that a woman can be as strong and as fast as a man, turning this into a gender/sex war.

What I see is, we have women's sports, and men's sports. Women compete with women, and men compete with men. These are the rules because most men have stronger, more masculine bodies than women, giving men a large physical advantage.

We live in a society today were people are debating the relevence of being a "man" and "woman". Lines are being blurred, and there is a growing belief that men and women are "scientifically" exactly the same physically and mentally.

To put all of this to the test, should society simply allow men and women to professionally compete in sports (football, basketball, etc), together, regardless of sex, gender, body weight, etc? Maybe that will bring the truth to light.

I will add this before you answer: in boxing, their is a reason why their are weight classes. If a very light weight man fought against a very heavy weight man, the light weight man could get physically mutilated, or killed.

Thoughts?
