doesn't like the military? A few facts:
President Barack Obama signed a new law would guarantee timely and predictable funding by laying out the VA budget ahead of schedule. The law requires that the portion of the VA budget dealing with health care be appropriated a year earlier than it has been in the past. This will give the agency’s health providers the notice they need to accomplish hiring and other tasks that affect veterans’ medical care and well-being.
President Obama also signed the new G.I. Bill into law. ( the one that Bush and McCain were against) It pays tuition & fees directly to the school not to exceed the maximum in-state tuition & fees at a public Institution of Higher Learning.
A monthly housing allowance based on the Basic Allowance for Housing for an E-5 with dependents at the location of the school.
An annual books & supplies stipend of $1,000 paid proportionately based on enrollment
He put $555 million in the stimulus bill for a temporary expansion of the Homeowner’s Assistance Program benefits for private home sale losses of both military and civilian Defense Department personnel. The program reimburses those who lose money on a home sale due to a forced relocation.
1.3 billion in military construction for hospitals, and $240 million for child development centers.
The bill also provides $100 million in military construction for warrior transition complexes, and about $600 million for military housing projects for the troops and their families.
FEEL FREE TO NAME HOW GEORGE BUSH SHOWED HE LOVED THE TROOPS.
In a very rare reversal of opinion, the Bush Administration withdrew their long-held objections to a new GI Bill that would fully fund the cost of a public college education for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.
