Does the E50 support A2DP?

I cannot seem to find in any documentation the type of bluetooth support the E50 offers, the closest thing i can find is: Bluetooth: Yes.....

So does the E50 support the A2DP protocol?

And if not how do you guys listen to music/internet radio on your non A2DP headset?

the only s60 phones that support a2dp are the n91 8 gb and the n95. Not sure about the e90.

All N/E series devices support A2DP.. Nokia just chooses to put the drivers on some devices and not others. I'd wager that the E90 will not.

A2DP is a software thing and not hardware. it can be implemented via a firmware update but i'm sure Nokia will not do it.

no its just a software profile.....its also copyrighted so Nokia is prolly too cheap to pay for the licenses to implement them on their mainstream phones.

If they're paying MSFT for DRM, I don't know why they couldn't include the DRM necessary for the A2DP profile. More than likely they just want you to buy a new phone 2 years down the road.

The SE Symbian 9.1 phones that came out as the same time as Nokia S60v3 (and are based on same underlying OS) all have A2DP outof the box. Eg M600i, W950i, P999i. And those phones started coming out since last June.

Of course SE cocked those phones up in other ways, just to balance things out. This whole mobile phone market is full of nitwits, IMO.
