Does the Catholic church really teach people how to turn away from a sinful lifestyle?

I know and understand that I will probably get slammed and cursed for this question but I don't mean to harm anyone. Just try not to take it so personal.
I see so many people attending mass on sundays within the country but what I don't understand is why do people commit so much sin against each other.
Do Catholics go to church and ask God to understand their situation after they committed a sin against another person? Sins like jacking up the price 3 times above the original price when a foreigner want to purchase and item. Begging and asking money when you have other sources of income that gullible lenders are not aware of.
The point I am trying to make is that their is so much corruption in the country and the Catholic faith have the most followers in the country.

This is not meant to hurt anyone. I am just speaking out regardless if I am right or wrong. Thank you.

Who is going tp teach them?
The priests who took a vow of poverty, then use the money collected to build mansions and buy fancy cars and nice businesses for their families?
