does the blackberry curve work without the internet on Sprint?

i want to buy a blackberry curve used because my other phone broke and all i have on my plan is txting and walkie talkie but i dont use it so its okay if i cant use it on the blackberry but i want to know if i can just buy it from a friend and connect it and use it with only txt and talk?
 
Well the SPRINT bb curve doesnt have walkie talkie. only the NEXTEL bb curve does. I heard my aunt doesn't have internet on hers, but she has T-mobile. I do believe you must have a plan that works with internet too. but, you can call sprint for complete answers.
