Does the Army BAH start date begin on the day of the cermony or Certificate date?

I got married in Feb, turned in paperwork in Dec. On the certificate, the cermony was in Feb, but the certificate date is in Dec. After turning paperwork in to my Chain, will the Army backpay me back to Feb, or will it start on the certificate date issued, which is dec?
 
We got married in early May, turned in paperwork in late June... we were back paid. Also, make sure you're getting BAS or they will need to back pay that also! We went two years without getting that (didn't know we were supposed to)!
