Since 1/3 of women develop PTSD after being raped, I was thinking, "What makes the other 2/3's of raped women not develop PTSD?"
Maybe the 1/3 that developed PTSD were raped by someone that also threatened them with death? Whereas the other rapes were different types of rapes where the women knew they would not be killed—there was no threat of death.
I guess if a woman is blacked out from alcohol, the trauma is lived after the actual rape, which makes the likelihood for developing PTSD very small.
