does suboxone kill sex drive

I have been on Suboxone for 3 years. My sex drive has been non exisitant since. I have sex with my gf every few months. I have taken viagra but what is the use of a hard on if you have no desire, I do it just so she doesn't leave me or cheat on me. It is erabarassing and very difficult to live with. Do you get off, take the chance of relapse just for sex, what do you do? I started taking testosterone injections which helps a little bit. I am scheduled to be off of suboxone on Dec. 25th as I have been tapering for past couple months. Cut him some slack, talk to him, lay everything out on the table and hear him out. I am 24 years old with no sex drive, and for a man, trust me, you have no idea what he feels about himself during this time...
 
well... i am in the same exact situation. and my gf is verrrrrrry sexual! i know exactly how you feel. it definitely affects my sex drive. ive been trying to get off of suboxone for years now. weaned down my dose to about one mg a day for a while now. but im still feeling withdrawal symptoms pretty often which was why i was going to make a thread about it anyway before reading this post. i just cant seem to go any lower.

.but i feel your pain, this sexual pain at least. i know that the more time that goes by between dosing the better off i am for sex. its to be expected thoughfrom this pain medication... they all have adverse sexual side effects. so im not sure how to help really as im in the same situation and the only thing i have been able to think of is reducing or getting off the suboxone completely and im still having trouble with that myself. if im in opioid withdrawal for me there is always a rebound effect sexually, it works the opposite when im in withdrawal. or starting to feel symptoms of withdrawal.. just waiting til the next day when im about to dose.. at this time i can already feel quite a difference in my ability to perform sexually. and i too have tried to extend my time off it between dosing just in order to do more sexually and feeling bad from doing that... its not a good situation to be in. i feel you man!
 
So how are you on 1 mg a day? That has to be so small there really can't be anything that is being ingested throiugh that vein under your toungue. Do you mean an 8mg tablet or 2mg? I am also not sure if you meant to say it this way but Suboxone is NOT an opiod, and I see people say it all the time, maybe it just looks that way to me!...Anyways, appreciate the info from you, your mind plays a serious and critical factor when tapering and getting off. I was on 32mg (4-8mg tablets) a day, I am down to 6 mg now and like stated I am going to be off by Dec. 25th. The testosterone I had to get illegally, so it's a good thing I started to work out...lol....it does give me desire to have sex. Man it really sucks...when I was on 16-32mg there could be the most beautiful naked chick in front of me and I had no desire to do something about it...I am excited to get off....wich me luck!
 
I take half a two mg tablet a day. and i deff notice it still. i used to take more which i noticed affected my sex drive more of course. but even this still does affect it.
i totally understand you man.. when i was around that higher dose i felt the same way.. and still even.. it can be very difficult to climax when having sex the closer its been to when i take the pill.
