Does spending this much time in a chat room mean there's a problem?

Like 10-12 hours a day? What if all of someone's "friends" and "relationships" are in the chat room or online some other place and you don't see a need to change anything you are doing even tho you have no friends in real life? You even go to school online cuz of emotional problems. Do you think someone can grow out of this when they are almost 17? Thanks

There is definitely a problem with only having an online social life. You can't develop the social skills you need to succeed in life.

You can grow out of it, as long as it is something that you want to do. Go shopping, or visit a library, and start conversations with randoms. Keep meeting new people, and put yourself out there. Try to stay off the internet for extended periods of time.
