I seem to be getting a lot of mixed/straight signals from the females this school year. School has only been in session for 3 weeks and I've seen a lot more attention than my previous years. I'm a Junior, and so are most of the girls I seem to be getting the focus of, with around 4 Seniors/Sophomores also.
Assume that one girl makes these signals, not the group.
Positive:
-Constant eye contact when speaking/spoken to
-Constant smiling, unless it happens to be a more serious conversation
-Always ask me for help on work, advice (not romantic), etc.
-Splits attention (rather than focus on) between me (rather new) and her other friend at the table (known year longer + they play on the same sports team)
-Laughs at my bad jokes (most of the time they are good)
-**Most Recently** light playfulness (slapped/socked a few times, etc.)
Negative:
-No "Hi, Sup, Hey, etc." in the halls (passing periods)
-I most of the time have to start the conversations (70%ish?)
-A lot more playful (touchy) with other guys, however she seems to like actually talking with me more than most other guys.
All signals apply to Girl 1. What should I do?
Only positive signals apply to Girl 2. However she is probably the nicest person I've ever met, perhaps it's her nature to act that way. What should I do?
Also, whatever your opinion on my situation (likes or doesn't like me), what can I do to further our relationship? Even if I don't end up being a boyfriend it's always nice to be a better friend.
And, what can I do to find out if she likes me? Of course, using more subtle strategies than being as blunt as possible.
