Does reaching the state of enlightenment involve god?

We know that we have levels of consciousness such as anger, fear, joy, peace and the higher stage 'enlightenment', can a human possibly achieve that state? Atheists are usually in Reasoning,love and peace, which is just a step below enlightenment, all religious people are always in low states such as anger, fear, grief and some are neutral but even though being in a religion one can achieve enlightenment only when they surpass reasoning which if they came to that stage they wouldn't be believing in god now, as i have heard Jesus, Buddha, krishna have reached this state (spirituality) feeling of connectedness to the world and understanding the infinite(god) where also i have seen that buddha claimed that one can achieve enlightenment only when he feels that he is having a relationship with the unknown, which we as atheists know that since we don't believe in god we can't do that but if enlightenment is the answer then . so what do you think about this?
