does possesion is nine tenths of the law apply to this situation?

about ten years ago my father purchased a big screen tv. he couldnt buy it because of his credit, so he let his sister, my aunt purchase it with her circuit city card, and he paid her in cash. my father recently passed away, and now she is trying to take the tv away after it had been in our possesion for ten years?
