does playing sports play a factor in your popularity level?

This is speaking in a perspective of a guy who goes to high school, who doesn't play any sports. the only sports i play here and there would be tennis, ping pong, and sometimes basketball. the thing is, i do not participate in any "teams". i do other things, i just really do not have any interest in sports, and haven't really my whole life. I'm curious to see what people's thoughts are about this subject.

the reason why i ask this is because my school seems like everything is based upon sports, and that's all some people think/ talk about. i would like to know if people believe that sports do 'change who you are' as a whole and cause your "popularity" in school increase?

yes, i do believe that sports are a good thing and their great to play. when someone thinks higher of them selfs, and think that they are better than other people in school.... i honestly think its dumb, because in reality they are no more popular than anybody else. in their minds they think they are better than other people, its really irritating at times going to school and dealing with these people.

so the simple question.... do sports actually make you more popular in school or is it just a misconception over students of the current world?

thanks in advance for any responses.

Yeah...maybe it's so, cos there are many people who think that the boy who is good in sports is smart. Well it's not always like that but cos of this some people start thinking that they are very great and start acting like that. I also get irritated by this thing. But i sport for my joy. I also play basketball and play quite well, and also in team. But I don't like those ones who are self proud. So i would advice that there's no problem if you think that sports is not important for u but still, you should play them. The more u will play, the more you will learn. It will help you enjoy and be fit.
