I bass boosted and played songs really loud on my pc speakers and I think im paranoid but I could have sworn the music started sounding crappier. Is it possible?
High bass oriented songs come out at a lower frequency than high treble oriented ones. And when you amplify that bassed up song, it rattles the hell out of the speakers, so overtime, the diaphragm will tear faster till the speaker finally blows
It can...If you are talking PC Speakers, that may not have the ability to handle the extra bass...or causing the speakers to go into distortion...you can definitely cause damage to make the speakers worse.
It is possible that the speakers are or have been damaged. Yes...
voice coils could be slightly overheated and have been damaged. Causing them to rub a little. And make noise and sound horrid.
Or the cone could have a rip or tear from excessive bass.
